MEXICO CITY (Dow Jones)--Mexico's pension fund industry saw its net profit tumble 19% last year, as new regulations limiting the commissions pension fund companies can charge and higher costs took their toll.

Net profit fell to 1.85 billion pesos ($132.8 million), down from MXN2.28 billion in 2007, according to data posted on the Web site of pension fund regulator, Consar, on Friday.
